Ground-Breaking Ceremony: Touratech is Expanding
With a ground-breaking ceremony on November 13th, 2015, Touratech AG - Motorcycle Equipment started the construction phase of a new logistics centre including shop, warehouse, as well as an office building.
The new build project with a total volume of more than 10 Million Euros emerges diagonally opposite of Touratech's present site in Niedereschach in the Black Forest. Once the new building is finished, the old ones will be restructured and from then on used for production only. That way, the company wants to set the course of the future and create space for new technologies as well as for the expansion of manufacturing capacities.
On an area of 20,000 square metres, a complex of three new halls with a floor space of 7,700 square metres will be built, providing room for a modern high rack warehouse, commissioning department, workshop, management, and the Touratech shop including the bistro. Also, the offices for distribution, marketing and product management, so far housed in a former indoor tennis centre, will be moved there.
Furthermore, an existing building will be reconstructed and integrated, providing further areas for the storage of event materials, vehicle pool materials, and for the business unit of Touratech Suspension. Besides, a large staff car park will defuse the currently confined parking space situation.
The ground-breaking ceremony took place in the presence of numerous guests of honour, employees and distributors from more than 40 countries. Touratech CEOs Herbert Schwarz and Jochen Schanz pointed out that this project was not only an investment to safeguard existing jobs and create new ones, but also a clear commitment to the production in Europe, and especially to the location Niedereschach.
The new building is supposed to be finished and taken into operation already in July 2016.
