A PICTURE | AND ITS STORY – RECOVERY POSITION

Travelling in Thailand can be adventurous. On our photo and video tour through the Southeast Asian country in February 2024, we not only had the support of Touratech's local partner, but also a prominent guide.
Art, whose real name is Chaiyasotthi Pruchayar, is a successful YouTuber, trainer and instructor for BMW Motorrad as well as an instructor at Touratech Enduropark Thailand and a much sought-after guide for extraordinary off-road tours.
His riding skills are hard to beat, his enjoyment of motorbike riding is infectious and we were able to experience many crazy situations with him. Of course, Art always rode ahead in dangerous or unknown passages. This was also the case with this river crossing, which was not extremely deep - but long. And the muddy water made it impossible to see the ground. Of course, Art mastered the river crossing confidently and without any problems. Shortly before he reached the bank, he turned to us and stuck his thumb up in the air.
At that moment, he rammed a large stone under the water. Involuntarily, he opened the throttle with his remaining hand on the handlebars, sped up the steep slope on the bank and turned the bike upside down - from where it rolled onto its side. Rumour has it that he did not take his thumb of the throttle during the entire action. There is no photographic evidence of this, but there is the evidence of the unusual position of the motorbike. Funnily enough, the water crossing was no problem for the rest of us.
The complete movie ‘Thailand Unleashed’ has been available on the official Touratech YouTube channel since 6 December 2024.
