NEWS | PREVIEW ACTIVE ADVENTURE

Touratech is organising the Active Adventure for the seventh time. For two days, 12 offroad routes around the company headquarters in Niedereschach will be available for unlimited fun on your own touring enduro as part of this unique event. For the first time, there are also starting places for adventure bikes with a smaller engine capacity.

Just do what you feel like doing: Put the spurs to the adventure bike, dig the cleats into the ground and catapult yourself up the steep driveway with a powerful pull on the cable. This or something similar is possibly the stuff of daydreams for many enduro travellers. But where should you live out these dreams? Hardly any unpaved areas in Germany are still legally passable.

Exciting challenges for Adventure Riders

Touratech is responding to this situation with the Active Adventure. In close cooperation with the authorities and nature conservation experts, the Adventure Company No. 1 enables enduro travellers to indulge in their favourite hobby to their heart's content for two days. The proud number of 12 off-road terrains is available to the participants. And everyone is sure to get their money's worth. The diverse types of terrain range from rooted forest paths and fast gravel stages to steep and challenging climbs. And depending on the weather, there can also be a fair amount of mud. However, if you get stuck here with your bike, you won't have to dig for long. Team play is a top priority among the Active Adventure participants. “We are always amazed at how quickly new friendships are formed at the Active Adventure and how the riders support each other in overcoming the challenges,” says Vivien Benz, the Marketing Manager responsible for organising the event.

Offroad riding fun with likeminded people

One thing is clear to everyone who takes part: the Active Adventure is not a race. It's not about fast times or competition. The sole purpose is to have fun with like-minded people off-road. The stations can be approached in any order. At many locations there are even two variants, so that riders with different skills get their money's worth. To avoid overloading individual stations, a maximum of five laps can be ridden at any one time - but without a time limit.

Even though the Active Adventure does not include any competitive elements, a solid off-road riding technique is a prerequisite for really having fun. “You should already have your enduro bike under control before tackling the Active Adventure,” emphasises Philipp Blum, Touratech Head of Marketing, who is pulling the strings behind the scenes. “We recommend a skill level that has been achieved after several days of enduro training or similar experience gained independently.”

Security in focus

Safety is very important to the organisers of the Active Adventure. The event is organised in close cooperation with the local emergency services. The location and names of all stations are known so that the emergency services can be on site as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency. However, the basic concept of the Active Adventure already prevents the risk of accidents. Thanks to the experience-orientated approach and free time management, nobody has to drive faster than their driving ability allows. In addition, experienced staff at the stations ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Motorbike and nature in harmony with one another

Environmental protection is also very important at Active Adventure. Nature conservation experts are involved in the planning from the very beginning. Sensitive areas are categorically excluded from the route. A clear route layout marks the usable areas and also helps with orientation in the terrain. “With the Active Adventure, Touratech proves that responsible off-road driving and nature conservation are not mutually exclusive,” says Philipp Blum. “Our participants get their money's worth without damaging sensitive areas. This is also confirmed after each event by local residents and the owners of the land used.”

All stations are located in the immediate vicinity of the Touratech headquarters in Niedereschach. Those who have exhausted themselves at one location have ample opportunity to let the wind blow around their noses on the winding connecting roads.

Joining the Touratech Active Adventure 2025

Participation in the Touratech Active Adventure from 11 to 13 September 2025 costs 329 euros (incl. meadow camping, excl. catering). Only road-legal adventure bikes with STVZO-compliant equipment can take part. Studded tyres are a prerequisite for successfully tackling the sometimes challenging off-road stages. If you want to take part, you should have a solid basic knowledge of off-road riding. In principle, only touring enduros from 600 cubic centimetres upwards are permitted for the Touratech Active Adventure. However, because more and more experienced adventure riders are consciously focussing on lighter machines, there will be 50 places for selected dual-sport bikes with a smaller displacement at the 2025 event for the first time. BMW G 310 GS, KTM 390 Adventure, CFMoto 450MT, Fantic Caballero Scrambler 500, Rieju Aventura 500 i ABS, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Suzuki DR-Z4S and Voge 500 DSX are perfectly suited to the spirit of the event. The number of participants is limited to 400 for reasons of smooth organisation and maximum safety. So get your ticket now!

Get-together by the fire

In the evening, the participants meet at the Touratech company premises. The experiences of the day are exchanged in a relaxed campfire atmosphere, and food and drink are also provided. The food truck offers hearty refreshments after a strenuous day of riding, and cool drinks are always in high demand after the off-road adventures.

If you like, you can rest your weary bones in style on the nearby camping meadow; well-kept sanitary facilities including showers are available. Those who prefer a soft bed can stay in a hotel or guesthouse in the neighbourhood. Participants will be able to chat to each other in specially set up WhatsApp and Facebook groups in the run-up to the Active Adventure. “We are delighted that the riders make such intensive use of this offer. Many questions, such as those relating to tyres, can be discussed in depth here so that participants arrive at the Active Adventure optimally prepared,” says Vivien Benz.

So sometimes dreams do come true. For example at the Touratech Active Adventure from 11 to 13 September 2025! The driving event offers the unique opportunity to spend two days on the road in a wide variety of terrain types and experience the unrivalled community spirit with like-minded adventure riders.
