The Compañero Worldtrack marks the fifth evolutionary stage of the legendary Touratech textile suit with its modular, two-layer construction. The concept can be summarised in the catchy formula Summertrack + Weathertrack = Worldtrack. But first things first. Strictly speaking, the Compañero Worldtrack combines two suits in one. The Summertrack is made from a combination of materials that are extremely airy on the one hand and achieve top marks in terms of abrasion and tear resistance on the other. The Summertrack also features high-quality protectors.

The Weathertrack does not have its own protectors but is worn over the Summertrack in wet or cool weather. The Weathertrack is much more than just a rain suit. It is made from high-quality Gore-Tex three-layer laminate, which combines waterproofness with maximum breathability. It is also perfectly matched to the summer suit. This starts with the specific fit, which guarantees optimum mobility, and extends to the pocket concept, which is positioned offset to the arrangement of the Summertrack to avoid bulky duplication. Waterproof ventilation zips allow you to regulate the internal climate.

WHEN IT GETS HOT: THE COMPAÑERO SUMMERTRACK

With the Summertrack, the name says it all: even on demanding routes and in high temperatures, this suit ensures optimum ventilation. And this is where the first important innovation comes in. The mesh inserts on the chest, trouser legs and sleeves are made from a new material. Cordura AFT offers an even higher air flow rate than the previous Traveller model, with identical abrasion resistance. However, this new material is significantly more supple, which not only improves overall comfort, but also allows for more discreet seams, making the suit even more comfortable to wear.

The comfort of the Compañero Worldtrack is not limited to effective ventilation. Numerous details, which are tested for their practical benefits with every edition of this unique textile suit and optimised where necessary based on customer feedback, ensure that it is comfortable to wear in a wide range of conditions.

These include extensive customisation options such as the infinitely variable waist and chest adjustment, the practical arm width adjusters that can be operated with one hand, the adjustable cuffs and, last but not least, the soft collar.

The high practicality of the Summertrack is also reflected in its well-thought-out pocket concept. Items that need to be within reach at all times can be stored in the jacket's two waterproof outer pockets. The spacious pocket on the back of the jacket also offers space for larger items. Valuables are well protected in the spacious inner pockets. The small zip pocket on the upper arm for the keyless-go key of modern motorbikes is a clever feature.

To ensure that the Summertrack is not only comfortable but also safe, only the best materials such as extremely abrasion- and tear-resistant Cordura® 500 are used. In particularly exposed areas, double panels made of extra-strong Cordura® 2000 provide extra safety. The high-strength seams made of particularly robust thread also take into account the high tensile loads that act on the entire construction in the event of a fall. As a result of this unique combination of material quality and careful workmanship, the Compañero Summertrack has been classified in the second-highest protection class AA - despite the extensive use of mesh fabric.

The Compañero Summertrack is equipped with particularly high-quality protectors for shock absorption. For a high-end suit, it goes without saying that all protectors are certified in accordance with the latest EN 1621-1 standard. What's more, the protectors on the shoulders, elbows, back, hips and knees all comply with the particularly effective Level 2 variant, while large reflective inserts are responsible for passive safety.

TOURATECH COMPAÑERO WORLDTRACK: THE TECHNOLOGY IN DETAIL

CORDURA®

Originally developed by the US chemical company Du Pont, Cordura is now a registered trademark of Koch Industries. It is a fabric made from the synthetic fibre nylon. The material is characterised by high abrasion and tear resistance. The addition 500D denotes the strength of the yarn in units of denier. 1 denier corresponds to 1 gram per 9,000 metres of thread. Cordura 500D, as used as the main material for the Compañero Summertrack, therefore has a thickness of 500 g/9,000 metres. The Cordura 2000D used in the areas at risk of falling is therefore woven from a thread four times as strong, making it even more robust.

CORDURA® AFT

The mesh material is a high-strength 3D spacer fabric made from the synthetic fibre nylon, which is characterised by maximum air permeability. The yarn and knitted fabric are extremely tear-resistant, resulting in an excellent tensile strength-to-weight ratio in addition to breathability. The mesh inserts of the Summertraveller are made of Cordura® AFT.

GORE-TEX® THREE-LAYER-LAMINATE

To achieve maximum breathability, W.L. Gore uses the microporous Gore-Tex® membrane. Tiny pores are incorporated into a waterproof membrane made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). These are so small that liquid water cannot pass through. In the gaseous state (vapour), however, water molecules can pass through unhindered. They follow the gradient from warm to cold, i.e. from the inside to the outside. In a three-layer laminate, the membrane does not lie loosely as a liner between the outer material and the lining but is connected to these to form an inseparable unit, the laminate. This construction ensures optimum protection of the membrane and also allows cuts close to the body, as the laminate, in contrast to liner constructions, hardly adds any bulk. Gore-Tex® three-layer laminate is the material of the Weathertrack.

YKK AQUASEAL ZIPPERS

AquaSeal zips from premium manufacturer YKK have a waterproof rubber coating on the inside that seals the bead. This makes them completely waterproof and yet easy to use.

DIN EN ISO 20471 FOR HIGHLY VISIBLE CLOTHING

The international standard DIN EN ISO 20471 specifies the requirements for high-visibility warning clothing. The Compañero Weathertrack fulfils this standard and thus offers the standards required for high-visibility clothing for work in the rail and road traffic sector.

SAS-TEC PROTECTORS

Particularly high-quality protectors made in Germany. All built-in protective pads comply with the current EN 1621-1:2012, Level 2 standard, which means that the average residual force acting on the body in the event of an impact is even lower than with Level 1 protectors. In the case of articulated protectors, for example, the average residual force at Level 1 must not exceed 35 kN, and a single impact must not exceed 50 kN. The average residual force for level 2 protectors must be less than 20 kN and no single impact may exceed 30 kN. The requirements for back protectors are even stricter. Here, the residual force for Level 1 products must not exceed an average of 18 kN, and for Level 2 protectors a maximum of 9 kN.

PROTECTION CLASS AA

Since 2018, the EN 17092-2 standard has defined the mandatory protection classes for motorbike clothing. There are five different protection classes. The letter C stands for pure impact protection, B for pure abrasion protection and A for a combination of both properties. The letter combination AA designates rider equipment with a particularly high level of protection in both disciplines.

ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS: THE COMPAÑERO WEATHERTRACK

Just as convincingly as the Compañero Summertrack copes with warm to hot temperatures, its counterpart, the Weathertrack, provides consistent protection in cold and wet conditions. Made from Gore-Tex 3-layer laminate, the outer suit combines waterproof material with outstanding breathability. The Weathertrack is closed with a particularly high-quality and absolutely waterproof Aqua-Seal zip. This technology is also used in the two ventilation zips on the front of the jacket, which allow cooling air to enter the suit if required.

To ensure that no moisture or cold can creep under the protective shell in uncomfortable weather, the jacket and trousers can be joined together with a zip. This ensures that the warming air cushion is always maintained. As visibility is usually poor in bad weather, the Compañero Weathertrack is equipped with large areas of reflective material. The suit therefore fulfils the strict requirements for high-visibility clothing set out in the DIN EN ISO 20471 standard.

The Weathertrack is generously equipped with pockets for unrestricted functionality. The jacket has two outer pockets, a blind pocket and an inner pocket. And of course, they are all waterproof. A tank protector to prevent scratches, adjustable cuffs and a soft collar round off the functional scope of the laminate suit.

But that's not all: the jacket of the membrane suit is not only functional, but also extremely stylish. It can hold its own in comparison to functional jackets from the outdoor segment and is a practical, waterproof and breathable companion for evening strolls around town and on all excursions where, for once, the bike is not allowed. A detachable storm collar or hood can be optionally attached for this purpose. The jacket can be packed into itself to save space during transport.

With its fresh design, the Compañero Worldtrack is also a clear visual departure from its predecessor, the World Traveller. To cater for different builds, the textile suit is available in separate cuts for men and women, with a choice of regular, long and short sizes. The sleeves of the women's jacket are now slightly looser, so that freedom of movement is even better when wearing warm underwear.
