Touratech: Development Team

The TT Parts department develops the original Touratech products - from crash bars and GPS holders to ZEGA aluminium cases. Their colleagues in OEM Project Development take care of orders from motorcycle manufacturers, and in the third area of the development department, Fixture Construction, tools and aids are manufactured.
In order to always be at the forefront of progress, Touratech relies on state-of-the-art software in development. Complex 3D shapes, such as those that can be realised by hydroforming, often require complex post-processing. With the SolidCAM software, the developers can use the 3D data of the product directly to mill recesses into a workpiece.
But Touratech Development is also very hands-on. For example, in fixture construction and the adjoining workshop. Prototypes are welded here or attachment tests are carried out. New motorcycle models are measured with a 3D scanner and attachment points for accessories are identified with a FARO measuring arm.
Touratech also builds its own devices and tools. Construction mechanics use SOLIDWORKS to design welding or testing devices, forming tools or assembly aids, for example.
In view of the high demands made by motorcycle manufacturers such as BMW and KTM, important impetus comes from OEM development. The accessory products that Touratech manufactures for these premium brands always require new high-tech solutions - which are then also available for the manufacture of products sold under the Touratech label.
