Travel & Adventure
It should have all been different! Started at the Touratech Travel Event 2018 with my BMW 800 GS, I sat two years and a round-the-world trip later in Buenos Aires and planned to be back in Germany in time for the Travel Event 2020. It would have been a perfect round and a great reunion. Then Covid arrived. I had time to sort photos and stories and prepare a great talk.
After having perfect weather and timing in Scandinavia on land – was time to hit a bit more south from Norway, cross Sweden and reach Denmark and the harbor there. We knew that that country can’t be counted as the 100th one visited by us and the Donkey, because actually we were in Denmark before.
What could possibly be more exciting than to travel the world two up with your partner? Travelling on two Adventure Bikes of course! We wanted to get away from the cold, immerse ourselves in a new culture but most importantly discover Morocco’s vibrant colours and rugged landscape on two wheels. What could possibly go wrong?
With the Pan America, Harley-Davidson is opening a new chapter in the company's history: off the road, onto the trail. We had this adventure bike with us at the photo shoot for ACT Pyrenees and were able to gather lots of riding impressions to be used in the development of accessories.
In 2019 I therefore decided to go to Norway, it was my first time in winter and I participated in another even more extreme rally, the Kristall Rally. This overwhelming desire to push me further north took shape, a desire that resounded within me like the sound of a drum.
One of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Europe runs along the border between France and Spain: the Pyrenees. The Adventure Country Tracks e.V. team has scouted an adventurous route right through this unique mountain world, from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.
That area of the world, because there was no occasion before, we wanted to explore at the end, when retired or not having enough strength to ride a bike. That would be a huge mistake! Man! We are now regretting we reach that place, especially that it is so close from us and has so much to offer!
