Dedicated do-it-yourselfers know this just as well as professional customisers: tuning the suspension is almost always the first step towards a long-term optimisation and individualisation of a motorcycle. And there are plenty of reasons for replacing spring elements. For example, the original parts may be worn out, or the rider may want additional adjustment options. Very often, however, it is also a matter of adapting the suspension of your machine to perfectly match your own needs. No matter what your personal motivation for suspension optimisation - Touratech Suspension has the right components.
Touratech Suspension has developed a broad portfolio of high-quality suspension elements for a wide range of uses. The Travel line, with its large reserves and diverse tuning options, is specifically designed to meet the requirements of enduro travellers. The Black-T line combines the latest suspension technology with a classically cool look and was designed specifically for use in custom and new-heritage bikes. The new E1 line covers a huge spectrum of many hundreds of motorbike models in all categories. It offers high-quality replacements for the standard elements at a fair price.
Electronic suspension for BMW R 1200 GS / R 1250 GS: Touratech Suspension Plug & Travel EVO

Completely newly developed electronic suspension for BMW R 1200 GS / R 1250 GS
In 2013, Touratech launched the Plug & Travel suspension as a high-quality upgrade for the electronic suspension elements of the BMW R 1200 GS / R 1250 GS. With a focus on motorcyclists who want to get more out of their GS, it offers the possibility of riding more actively on unpaved roads with luggage, while retaining the fine response and practical adjustment options.
Thanks to the experience gained from millions of kilometres driven, the brand new high-end Plug & Travel EVO range enables an even better driving experience.
E1 - the introduction to the world of Touratech Suspension
With the completely new E1 product range, Touratech Suspension offers the perfect introduction to professional suspension optimisation - and this for an incredibly wide range of motorcycles. Cutting-edge street bikes and enduros are catered for as well as the evergreens. Owners of a K 100 will find what they are looking for here, as will friends of Ducatis from the 1980s, or riders of Japanese models from the past five decades.
When it comes to Touratech Suspension, E1 stands for robust and well thought-out products at a fair price. Pursuing a slim design, the very solidly designed emulsion shock absorbers do without an external expansion tank. Rebound damping can be adjusted very finely over the wide range of 50 clicks. Thanks to their progressive spring, the E1 series shocks offer a smooth response with high reserves against bottoming out at the same time. The preload of the spring can be adjusted manually, a hydraulic spring preload is available on request. Due to the wide range of motorcycles covered, the E1 series includes mono shocks as well as twin shocks.
Travel - customised performance
Touratech has developed more expertise in enduro travel over the past three decades than any other company. This wealth of experience has been incorporated into the development of the Travel product line.
The basic design of the „Travel“ suspension components is particularly robust. For example, the shock absorber rods and all the seals are larger than is standard in large-scale series production or other high-quality aftermarket products. The suspension components also possess an unusually wide adjustment range so they can be finely tuned to the rider’s particular application.
Springs with varying degrees of hardness can be fitted to match the weight of the rider and the intended load. The technicians from Touratech Suspension have also developed specific set-ups for every use that provide the perfect interplay of suspension and damping.
In the “Travel” segment, the four product lines Level 1, Level 2, High End | Expedition and Extreme are available for numerous motorcycle models. Their construction covers the full range of applications.

Closed-cartridge inserts for the forks
It isn’t just the rear shock that can be fine-tuned to highly demanding requirements using components from Touratech Suspension. The Cartridge Kit Extreme has been developed for adventure bike riders looking for an extremely responsive and durable fork. The kit consists of a closed cartridge insert for the fork that can easily be swapped for the original innards.
The closed cartridge principle was developed for the forks of sport motorcycles, which often operate under extreme strain. This technology accommodates the damping oil in a closed cartridge. This means that the oil volume can be precisely measured, but also that much less damping oil is required; this enables far finer responsiveness. The oil in the fork tubes acts purely as a lubricant.
With the Cartridge Kit Extreme, the performance of the fork remains constant even at very high damping frequencies on rough sections of track. The hydraulic end stop also protects the fork against bottoming out.
The kit is supplied with a motorcycle-specific set-up. The spring preload, compression and rebound can then be adjusted by the rider to suit his precise needs. Neither the fork bridge, handlebar mount, brakes nor wheel control has to be modified for installation.
As with all of Touratech Suspension’s other suspension systems, the Cartridge Kit Extreme for the fork is completely serviceable. The Cartridge Kit Extreme is already available for a large number of adventure bikes.

Springs for fork and shock absorber
While the combination of Cartridge Kit Extreme and a shock absorber from our extensive range represents the best possible solution, there are also effective suspension optimization solutions in Touratech‘s wide range for customers with a smaller budget.
Just by replacing the springs of the fork and shock absorber with progressive versions, an enormous improvement in the suspension characteristics can be achieved.

Plug & Travel (for ESA and DDA)
BMW introduced the ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) system which, to a certain extent, serves as a precursor to the electronic suspension. With ESA, the damping can be adjusted in moments at the push of a button. The spring preload is still set in the conventional way using a hand wheel.
Touratech Suspension offers suspension components as replacements for worn ESA components or as modifications for more demanding use. They exhibit all the functions of the original parts, but meet Touratech’s high standards of quality. Customers thus receive a ready-to-install solution with a preconfigured set-up that uses all the stock switches and connections but is far superior to the original in terms of responsiveness and resilience.
The semi-active DDA elements from Touratech Suspension are also easy to exchange for the stock equipment thanks to the “Plug & Travel” principle. These shocks replace the original parts in the BMW R 1200 GS, R 1250 GS, F 800 GS, F850 GS and in the corresponding adventure models that are fitted with electronic ESA or DDA suspension. These premium suspension components also combine high-quality Touratech technology, such as the patented electronic damper valve and additional settings, with complete compatibility with the vehicle electronics.
