In 2025, Touratech has two reasons to celebrate: the 35th anniversary of the company's founding and the 20th anniversary of the Travel Event. It goes without saying that Touratech will be celebrating this double anniversary together with all friends of the company and its customers.

What better way to celebrate the 2025 double anniversary than with an extra-large travel event? The team led by Philipp Blum, Head of Marketing, is therefore already busy planning. ‘In fact, preparations have been underway since the last travel event ended,’ says Philipp. ‘We immediately started analysing our own experiences and the feedback from visitors and thought about how we could make this unique event even more attractive in the future.’ 

The bar is already set quite high. The Travel Event 2024 once again attracted a five-digit number of adventure riders from numerous European countries and even from other continents with a well-thought-out mix of entertainment and exchange of experiences, tangible information offers and training sessions through to driving components.

The history of the Touratech Travel Event goes back to 2001, when it was first organised near Orange in France. The following year, Touratech brought the event, which had met with a positive response in the scene that far exceeded expectations, to the company headquarters in Niedereschach. For many years, the international meeting took place on the company premises at Auf dem Zimmermann. With the opening of the new headquarters, the travel event was relocated to Dauchinger Straße in 2017.
‘However, it's not that easy to organise a complex event with such a wide range of activities on a company site,’ says Philipp. ‘Fortunately, neighbouring companies support us with space and the municipality is also very cooperative. The importance of the event can also be seen from the fact that the authorities allow Dauchinger Straße to be closed every year. ‘This allows us to create additional space for the impressive show trucks of our partners,’ says Philipp. The test drives, which are so popular with the public, can now start directly from the festival site.

The integration of partner companies into the travel event has become increasingly important over the course of the meeting's evolution. Tyre manufacturers are on site, as are communication and navigation specialists, tour operators, and also the motorbike manufacturers, who have numerous current models available for test rides. ‘This integration is a win-win situation for everyone involved,’ says Philipp about the cooperation. ‘Our visitors have the opportunity to compare adventure bikes from a wide range of manufacturers live, and the manufacturers meet an extremely interested audience that is only found in this quality and quantity at very, very few events.’
In addition to the test rides, the off-road taster sessions and guided tours in the Niedereschach area are particularly popular programme items in the active riding segment.

But the Touratech Travel Event also continues to set new standards in terms of inspiration. Long-distance travel legends such as Ted Simon and Charley Boorman are among the regular guests, and speakers such as Dirk Schäfer are international trendsetters in the multivision business.

But the Touratech Travel Event also has a very down-to-earth component. The relaxed atmosphere creates ideal conditions for intensive petrol talks between the visitors, experiences are exchanged at the large campfire until late into the night, and the small tent city on the free camping meadow is a place for hearing the latest news from the travel scene. Many participants already know each other from previous events, new friendships are formed and joint travel projects are initiated. Anyone who then secures a bargain from the second-choice sale is sure to go home with a satisfied smile.

Is there still a lot of potential for the anniversary event in 2025? ‘Even if I didn't know our plans, just looking at the evolution of the format so far would make me confident that we will be organising a very special travel event in 2025,’ says Philipp with a mischievous smile.
