Touratech Racing

Touratech has been present at selected top international sporting events for over 20 years - with impressive results.
Touratech‘s involvement in motorsport is never an end in itself. It is always about testing products from the series or near-series components under extreme conditions. The knowledge gained flows directly into the improvement of Touratech parts.
2001
Touratech builds the F 650 Rallye especially for the legendary Paris-Dakar desert race - the only fuel-injected rally machine at the time. At the 2001 Dakar, Didier Py reached Lac Rosé at the gates of Dakar with the Touratech F 650 Rallye.
2002
The following year, Touratech sent its own works team into the desert with riders Michael Griep, Francois Flick, Didier Py, Frederic Moncassin and Gilles Algay. Algay achieved 26th place overall, Griep finished 29th.
The commercial offshoot of the Dakar project is the TT39, a modified F 650 GS with long-stroke suspension elements and the 39-liter tank that gives the bike its name - the perfect bike for long-distance trips with a high proportion of off-road riding and long stages without supply options.
2005
Touratech starts with the Oryx Extreme at the 24-hour race in Torgau and achieves an incredible 5th place. The Oryx Extreme is a modified version of the Touratech Oryx sport enduro based on the BMW F 650 GS.
2010
Touratech Racing celebrates a double victory at the 24-hour Endurance Day with the BMW G 450 X conversion and also wins the international twelve-hour race „Dawn to Dusk“ in Wales.
2012
Four-time German Enduro Champion Marco Straubel and Touratech suspension specialist Lars Würdemann take part in the Iron Road Prologue to the Erzbergrodeo for Touratech on two Nuda-Xtreme, sport enduro conversions based on the Husqvarna Nuda. Straubel secures third place overall against strong international competition, Würdemann finishes fifth.
2016
The use of a Honda CRF 1000L built by Touratech at the Hellas Rally in May 2016 ends with a sensation. At the start for Touratech: rally crack and Dakar champion Dirk von Zitzewitz. Dirk skillfully exploits his navigation skills on the demanding route and knows how to use the power of the two-cylinder engine effectively. He confidently secured the class victory and took an incredible second place behind Gerard Farres (KTM 450 Rallye) in the overall standings.
2017
Based on the BMW R nineT, the radical rally boxer R9X is created in the Touratech development workshop. The mission: the Red Bull Romaniacs hard enduro rally. Touratech is able to recruit enduro veteran Gerhard Forster as a pilot, who achieves the unbelievable. In a day-long duel against KTM factory rider Quinn Cody, he secured victory in the Iron Class and 14th place in the overall standings on tracks that can only be mastered by the best of the best, even on lightweight sport enduro bikes.
2022
Extra-long suspension travel, the Plug & Travel EVO electronic chassis and a 21-inch front wheel - these are the key features of the Touratech R 1250 GS RR, with which extreme enduro specialist Kevin Gallas took part in the 2022 Transitalia Marathon for Touratech. The conversion with an elaborate navigation tower served as a test vehicle at the touring event, and not just for the new semi-active chassis. The sometimes fast, sometimes very technical sections provided important insights into numerous parts for the GS series.
