UPDATE | ACT NEWS
New track, extensive re-scouting of existing routes and a big mid-season get-together at the ACT Camp in Kleinhau: Adventure Country Tracks will continue to support the Enduro travelling community with great vigour in 2024.
Opening up unsurfaced routes throughout Europe for Enduro travellers - that is the goal of Adventure Country Tracks e.V. (ACT) and the mission that the association, which was founded in 2018, is pursuing at full speed. The eighth ACT will be scouted in the course of this year. Preparations are in full swing; this time, an adventurous route through the Central Balkans is planned. As the two countries involved are quite small, the ACT organisers are deviating from their concept of taking each track through exactly one country. In any case, the community can look forward to a particularly challenging track, as the destination is considered a real enduro. The documentary film about the new route will be released shortly before Christmas, so that anyone interested will have plenty of time to plan for the 2025 season.
PERFECT ADDITION
With the eighth route, Adventure Country Tracks e.V. has created an interesting addition for off-road travellers who want to take a longer route within the Balkans, as there is already an ACT in the region in the form of ACT Croatia. The track is 835 kilometres long and leads in five stages from Pula to Hvar through the most adventurous regions of Croatia. If you wish, you can continue your Enduro journey along the new track towards Romania or head south towards Greece - there are already ACTs in both countries.
EXTENSIVE RE-SCOUTING
However, Adventure Country Tracks e.V. is not only concerned with the development of new routes. The existing tracks also need to be checked regularly. Have any sections become impassable due to natural events or has a local driving ban been imposed? Such information can only be obtained on site. For this reason, the association is carrying out extensive re-scouting this season in order to keep the information about the route up to date. Intensive discussions with tourism and nature conservation authorities are also on the agenda, as it is very important to the ACT organisers that all local authorities are involved in the project. This is the only way to keep the concept alive in the long term.
DON’T JUST BE THERE; TAKE PART!
Of course, these extensive activities cost a lot of money, which comes from the sponsors - above all Touratech - who support ACT with great enthusiasm from day one. What’s more, the contributions from the association members also go towards maintaining the routes. So, if you want to play an active role in ensuring that you can continue to go on extended Enduro tours in Europe in the future, you can find all the information about membership on the ACT website. The cheapest model is bronze membership for just 99 cents a month.
INFORMATIVE WEBSITE
The website is the centre of the ACT community. Here you will find all the information about the tracks, the .gpx data is available for download, and numerous videos provide facts about the routes, give insights into the scouting tours or portray the team members.
