Touratech: Certification and voluntary commitment

Touratech: Certification and voluntary commitment

Touratech places the highest demands on quality, processes and, last but not least, the sustainability of its products. In order to turn this claim into a real commitment, Touratech has undergone certification by independent bodies in numerous areas.

ISO certification for environmental management

Touratech also meets the highest standards in the field of sustainability.

In addition to the legally required documentation for placing electrical appliances and packaging on the market, Touratech works consistently to avoid waste, for example through innovative packaging and the reduction of filling material. Numerous Touratech sales packages are certified in accordance with Directive 94/62/EC (Green Dot) for participation in the Dual System.

The high standard of Touratech‘s environmental management system is evidenced by certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.

In line with the circular economy, Touratech recycles around 640 tons of recyclable materials. Thanks to consistent separation, the recycling rate is 91,3%. Every year, 138 tons of aluminium and 170 tons of stainless steel alone are recycled.

ABE instead of individual approval

By supplying all relevant products with a general type approval (ABE), Touratech creates legal certainty for buyers. In addition, time-consuming and cost-intensive individual approvals of accessory products are no longer necessary.

Touratech has its products tested by independent organizations such as TÜV and applies to the Kraftfahrtbundesamt (i.e. Federal Motor Transport Authority) for an ABE on this basis.

Certified test laboratory for chassis elements

Touratech is listed with the Kraftfahrtbundesamt (KBA) as a manufacturer of suspension elements and is certified as a test laboratory. Touratech has further developed selected suppliers in such a way that production is carried out there in accordance with the requirements of the KBA using specially developed equipment under certified conditions. All prescribed tests required to obtain an ABE for suspension struts, fork springs etc. can therefore be carried out in-house.

This gives Touratech the certainty that all specifications have been met even before the final test by external testing organisations. This not only saves development time, but also ensures that the empirical values from the durability tests are available in-house.

ISO certification for quality management

Certificates not only guarantee maximum transparency in all important process areas, they also give customers the assurance that Touratech products meet the highest standards. And last but not least, this self-commitment is a constant incentive for Touratech to make continuous improvements in order to maintain the certifications. Touratech‘s quality management has been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 since 2004 and therefore meets the high standards required of automotive suppliers.

Rider equipment with the highest safety standards

Touratech also relies consistently on certification in the area of rider equipment in order to guarantee the highest safety standards. The new Aventuro PRO Carbon helmet is not only certified according to the latest and particularly strict ECE 22.06 standard, but also according to the specifications of the US Department of Transportation (DOT). With the Compañero Ultimate and the Rambler Pro, Touratech is the only European manufacturer to offer textile suits that meet the highest protection class AAA - naturally certified in accordance with EN 17092-3:2019. With this certification, the women‘s version of the Compañero Rambler PRO suit has a globally unique selling point.
